When will I get my server?

We set up servers automatically, if your payment goes through it should only take a few minutes. If it’s taking longer please contact support.

How do I import my old server host’s files to this one?

We wrote a guide on this in our knowledge base here!

Do I have to port forward?

Since we host the server, you don’t have to do any port forwarding on your end. Just control the server on our panel, and connect like your friends!

Can I use mods or plugins?

Yes! If you want to use mods select Forge or Fabric in the JAR Selector. If you want plugins, select Spigot, Paper, or Purpur.

Can you install my previous server files for me?

Yes! When buying a new server you can select the addon for only an extra dollar one time. (+$1 CAD)

Just make sure to contact support after you buy it! This process isn’t automatic!

Do I get a free sub domain with my service?

Currently, no, however this is a pretty high priority to add soon!

Do I get free MySQL?

Every service gets at least 1 free MySQL database for plugins. If you need more, they are $0.75/database.

Can I see server statuses?

Any reported downtimes and issues for server statuses can be found at status.asteroidhost.com.

What’s the difference between Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, and Purpur?

Bukkit is the main server software for Minecraft. The rest are forks of it. Spigot is a very popular version of Bukkit, with some performance improvements. Paper and Purpur further refine those improvements.

How many plugins/players can my server hold?

The only performance difference between plans is how many gigabytes of RAM you get. A general idea is (recommended ram for version) + 1GB for every 15 players or 25 plugins.
